Ecological Literacy Workshop
Part 1
The inimitable Christopher Cooke and myself started the workshop with a discussion on Ecosystem Processes and how they function. We talked through the 15 different indicators available to us that tell us how well the ecosystem is functioning on any piece of land, anywhere in the world.
This is all without any equipment as the human body is the most sensitive instrument on earth!
Part 2
In the 2nd half, we proved that anyone can learn how to read these indicators and we split everyone into groups of 2 or 3 and had them assess the land using our metrics and scoring system.
After only 20 minutes everyone had scores that were very close together, showing that this is accessible to everyone!
